Ross Garland

Ross is a versatile lawyer with significant experience in the litigation coalface and has unique insights into the requirements of the Bench and the Bar, having practiced as a barrister early in his career.

He has run substantial cases in the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of New South Wales, including as part of the team acting for claimants in significant class action proceedings (such as the groundbreaking claims against Standard and Poor’s) and has secured important judgments in broad areas of commercial law, including construction of contracts, equitable trusts and intellectual property.

Having also worked in investment banking in New York, Ross has strong commercial instincts and a broad understanding of the financial markets. He brings this experience to legal practice by adopting a common sense and practical approach to problem solving for clients.

Ross is a Rhodes Scholar with a PhD in Law from Oxford University and is admitted in Australia and South Africa.
